Client Overview
About the Project
Taxio is a native ride booking app built separately for iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin/Jetpack), giving riders a premium, platform-native experience for booking rides, tracking drivers in real time, and paying in-app.
By building native rather than cross-platform, Taxio delivers the performance and UX quality expected of a consumer ride-booking product — matching the standard set by Uber and Lyft — without the compromise of a shared codebase.
SaaSify Labs delivered full native iOS and Android development for Taxio — with an AWS-powered backend — shipping both apps in 16 weeks in 2025.
The Challenge
What Problem We Solved
Ride-booking apps live and die on real-time responsiveness — maps, driver matching, live tracking — and cross-platform frameworks introduce latency and UX inconsistencies that riders notice immediately.
The client needed a fully native iOS and Android ride booking app that could compete on experience quality, with real-time driver matching and live trip tracking built to platform standards from the ground up.
What We Built
Core Features Delivered
Real-Time Driver Matching
Riders are matched with the nearest available driver in real time after booking.
Live Trip Tracking
Real-time map tracking shows driver location from pickup to drop-off.
In-App Payments
Seamless in-app payment processing handles fares without cash or redirects.
Native iOS & Android
Separate Swift and Kotlin builds deliver native performance and UX quality on both platforms.

App performance
Cross-platform ride apps delivering inconsistent performance and UX on iOS vs Android
Native Swift and Kotlin builds with platform-quality performance on both
Driver matching
No real-time matching system connecting riders with nearby drivers
Real-time driver matching engine built on AWS
Trip experience
No live tracking between pickup and drop-off
Real-time map tracking showing driver location throughout the trip
How We Built It
Our Development Process
Discovery & Native Architecture
Scoped separate native iOS and Android builds with shared backend, mapping real-time ride booking requirements.
UI/UX Design
Designed a clean, map-first ride booking interface optimized for both iOS and Android design standards.
Backend & Matching Engine
Built the AWS backend powering real-time driver matching, trip management, and payment processing.
Native App Development
Built the iOS app in Swift and the Android app in Kotlin/Jetpack independently for native platform quality.
QA & Launch
Tested real-time matching latency, live tracking accuracy, and payment flows on both platforms.
